NEW YORK—September 1, 2020— Morgan James’ new release, Safest Place in Iraq: Experiencing God During War by Colonel Paul Linzey US Army Chaplain (Ret.), tells the stories of men and women who experienced God during the war in Iraq. As a retired US Army Chaplain, Colonel Paul Linzey depicts how Christian military chaplains can still provide Christian pastoral support, if they do it right. Linzey tells a story that moves from death and destruction to friendship and faith, from temptation and torment to redemption and revival.

Colonel Paul Linzey knows that many will seek the Lord in times of crisis, but he also knows that living for Christ is a challenging, risk-laden endeavor. Safest Place in Iraq gives a glimpse of how other Christians have successfully navigated temptations, personal struggles, and doubt during traumatic, horrific occurrences. Linzey’s personal experiences show how he overcame the various dangers and circumstances he encountered during his war-time deployment in South Central Iraq while maintaining his faith.

In Safest Place in Iraq, Colonel Paul Linzey exemplifies what it takes to overcome life’s obstacles, whether that requires dodging mortars in the desert or fighting fear, loneliness, and temptation at home or at work. He demonstrates that it is possible to remain true to one’s values and calling as a person of faith in a hostile world, posing the question, “what is God asking you to risk?”
