NEW YORK—Dec. 7, 2021—Morgan James’ new release, MagicLand: A Novel, by Charles Bastille, brings elements of magic, technology and romance into a future Earth during a two-thousand-year war where the fate of the world relies on one kiss.
When a young actor from Gath crash lands outside the magic land of Moria and is rescued by a young Morian Priestess in waiting, the pair become impossibly drawn toward each other, despite the current war between their two species. Together, they discover a centuries-old secret leading to a kiss that could either end the brutal war or give way to an impossible peace between enemies; a question that can only be answered by discovering the true source of the Priestess’s gifts before it’s too late.
A parable for current times and a story of hope, MagicLand serves as a final warning about climate change but reassures adolescents and parents that mankind has seen many existential crises, and has yet to fall. MagicLand reminds readers they don’t have to be the star of the show to be the hero and that anything can be overcome when the heart is true and the people are good.
