NEW YORK— December 22, 2020— Morgan James’ new release, Pippin No Drippin’, written by Layne Ihde and illustrated by Linda Pierce, encourages the use of children’s imaginations and teaches that with a little bit of ingenuity, anyone can create something fun to do. Those who enjoyed Ihde and Pierce’s first book in the series, Pippin No Lickin’, will enjoy this continuation of Pippin’s adventures!
In Pippin No Drippin’, Pippin the cat can’t go outside because it’s raining, which makes him blue. His mother suggests he use his imagination to find something to do. After spying a magazine ad featuring a loud and colorful marching band, he sets forth to create a “one cat band” with items he finds around the house. Pippin No Drippin’ culminates in an impromptu performance for his parents and the realization that rainy days can still be fun when you put your mind to it!
Through Pippin’s adventure, Layne Ihde and Linda Pierce show children how to use their imagination and how to be confident when trying something new. This story highlights the importance of “analog play,” with no technology, tablets, or smartphones. These days, every child can relate to being stuck inside, and Pippin No Drippin’ teaches self-reliance and confidence to solve the issue of boredom.
