NEW YORK—May 16, 2016–Morgan James’s new release, Funded! How I Leveraged My Passion to Live A Fulfilling Life and How You Can Too by Lucy Gent Foma, teaches academics and professionals alike how to fund their passions and facilitate change.
Anyone who has ever wanted to travel, work, or study in their desired field has probably second-guessed the financial feasibility of their ambitions. Pursuing ones dreams starts to seem far less possible when you begin to crunch the numbers of what it will cost. So how is it that certain people obtain multiple degrees, study abroad, and find a way to fund their interests, all while remaining debt free? Lucy Gent Foma reveals how she did just that, in her new book, Funded.
After receiving over a quarter of a million dollars in fellowship, scholarship, and grant money, Lucy Gent Foma is an expert on finding funding for academic and career pursuits. In Funded! How I Leveraged My Passion to Live A Fulfilling Life and How You Can Too, she offers advice from her own experiences, as well as how-to tips and insightful anecdotes from multiple other past fellows and mentors. With each chapter laid out chronologically in the sequence applicants will follow as they seek funding, the book is a step by step career development guide that serves as a powerful tool for academics and professionals alike.
Funded shares real essays that won Fulbright and Rotary Scholarships, exercise sheets to practice along the way, and easily applicable advice from those who have been through the application process before. Motivating and transformational, Funded teaches readers to be competitive scholarship applicants and equips them to pursue their most ambitious goals.
